GEO Insights

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) Insights analyzes how your content is structured for visibility in AI-generated answers and recommendations. As more users discover content through LLM-powered search (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews), optimizing for these systems is increasingly important.

Every draft gets an E-E-A-T assessment:

  • Experience — Does the content demonstrate first-hand experience with the topic?
  • Expertise — Does it show deep knowledge and technical competence?
  • Authoritativeness — Is the source recognized as a credible authority?
  • Trustworthiness — Does the content inspire trust through accuracy, transparency, and citations?

Each dimension receives a rating:

  • Strong — well-demonstrated, likely to be cited by LLMs
  • Partial — present but could be strengthened
  • Weak — missing or insufficient, unlikely to be cited

The GEO panel evaluates your content against best practices for AI visibility:

  • Structured data — proper heading hierarchy, lists, tables
  • Clear definitions — explicit explanations of key concepts
  • Citable statements — specific data points, statistics, and claims
  • Source attribution — references to authoritative sources
  • Location specificity — for geographically relevant content
  • Local authority signals — demonstrations of regional expertise

Cortex GEO analysis panel

GEO analysis runs automatically during draft generation:

  1. CXOps generates content sections
  2. The GEO analysis engine evaluates each section
  3. Ratings and recommendations appear in the GEO panel of the editor
  4. Agent suggestions include GEO-specific improvements

The GEO panel shows a preview of how your content might appear when cited by AI systems — the key excerpts that LLMs are most likely to surface in their responses.

Based on common GEO recommendations:

  • Add specific data — Replace vague statements with specific numbers, percentages, and statistics
  • Include expert credentials — Reference the author’s experience and qualifications
  • Use structured format — Tables, numbered lists, and clear headings make content easier for LLMs to parse
  • Define key terms — Explicitly define industry terms and concepts
  • Cite sources — Reference authoritative sources and studies
  • Be comprehensive — Cover topics thoroughly rather than superficially
